ARE BALLOONS BIODEGRADEABLE?

It's a common misconception that latex balloons are made from plastic. Latex balloons are a plant based product made from 100% natural rubber. They are 100% biodegradable and decompose at about the same rate as an oak leaf. Balloons can fill a room but they are mostly air. Once popped, thousands of latex balloons won't even fill one bin bag and as they are biodegradable, they make a great and eco-friendly way to decorate!

Foil balloons are made from man made materials with an aluminium coating. They are recyclable but not biodegradable although there are many ways to extend their usefulness for years to come by re-using them. Try re-inflating them, using them for gift wrapping, use as packing material when mailing boxes, use for kids crafts or try using them as tissue paper for gifts.
